CyberMedVPS

Computer applications based on virtual reality (VR) have been used in realistic training and learning tasks to simulate interactive and immersive environments. Those simulations can allow users training abilities and decision making in several situations. The complexity related to the development of such simulations demands the knowledge of computational tools. In this context, the framework CyberMed can be used for the development of medical simulators based on VR. However, CyberMed and other frameworks with similar functionalities have an interface do not have an interface for people not used to programming. The CyberMedVPS has been developed for this public, that includes health professionals.

CyberMedVPS is a Visual Programming System. This kind of system has a pictoric essence and presents icons to represent data and operators. It allows users to interact only with graphics to compose a VR simulation. Thus, CyberMedVPS should offer to professionals, particularly health professionals, a way to develop their own applications..

CyberMedVPS is composed by a visualization unit and by a communication unit. The hierarquic structure shows the connection of the communication unit with the framework CyberMed. The visualization unit makes transparent the use of the framework for non-expert programming users.
