He got promoted to a Full Professor of UFPB defending the thesis "New Algorithm for Training Evaluation Using Gaussian Naive Bayes Network with Fuzzy Parameters" in June 2015.

He is a Scholarship in Technological Development of Brazilian National Council for Scientific and Technological

He was the Coordinator of Posgraduate Program in Decision Models and Health (Master and PhD degrees) between October, 11, 2008 and October, 10, 2012.
He was the Vice Coordinator of Posgraduate Program in Decision Models and Health (Master and PhD degrees) from October, 11, 2012 to October, 10, 2014.
His research areas are: Statistics Teaching, Image Processing, Fuzzy Sets Theory Applied to Statistics and Decision Making, Mathematical Morphology Applied to Image Processing, Spatial Analysis, Assessment of Training Performed in Virtual Reality Environments, Serious Games for PC and Mobile Devices and Risks of Global Warming for Public Health.
